Face Data Policy
Last updated: September 2026
What face data we collect
When you use face sign-in or enroll your face for authentication, SanghConnect captures a live image from your device camera. This image is a 512×512 pixel JPEG used solely for identity verification.
How we use your face data
Your face image is used only to verify that you are the account holder. When you sign in with your face, a live selfie is compared with the photo stored on your profile. The comparison is performed by a secure server-side AI model. The result (match / no-match) is used to grant or deny access — no biometric template is stored.
Legal basis
We process your face data based on your explicit consent, as required by the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023 and the DPDP Rules, 2025. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Data storage and security
- Your profile photo (the reference image) is stored in secure cloud storage accessible only to your Sangh.
- Live selfies captured during sign-in are processed in memory and not permanently stored.
- Access to face data is protected by Row-Level Security (RLS) policies.
- Face data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest.
What we do NOT do
- We do not create or store a biometric template or faceprint.
- We do not use face data for advertising or marketing.
- We do not profile or track you using face data.
- We do not share face data with third parties.
- We do not use face data for surveillance or law enforcement.
Your rights
You can:
- Withdraw consent and remove your face photo at any time
- Request deletion of your face data
- Switch to email or mobile OTP login instead of face sign-in
- Request a summary of how your face data has been used
