1. Who we are
SanghConnect is a community platform for Jain Sanghs across India. We connect members of your Sangh for communication, events, directory, and community services. This policy explains what personal data we collect and how we use it, in compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023 and the DPDP Rules, 2025.
2. Personal data we collect
- Name, mobile number, email address
- City and Sangh affiliation
- Profile photo and face image (for face sign-in only)
- Posts, messages, and activity within your Sangh
- Device and usage data for security and analytics
3. How we use your data
We use your personal data to:
- Verify your identity and authenticate your account
- Connect you with verified members of your Sangh
- Deliver notifications about events, messages, and activity
- Provide community features such as directory, groups, and meetings
- Prevent misuse, spam, and unauthorized access
4. Face data (biometric)
Your face image is collected only when you explicitly consent. It is used solely for account authentication — comparing a live selfie with your stored profile photo. Face data is never used for advertising, profiling, or shared with third parties. You can withdraw consent at any time by removing your face photo or contacting your Sangh host.
5. Data sharing
Your profile and Sangh activity are visible only to verified members of your selected Sangh. We do not sell your data. Data is shared with third-party service providers only as necessary to operate the platform (e.g., cloud hosting, SMS/OTP delivery) and under agreement to protect your data.
6. Your rights under DPDP
You have the right to:
- Access a summary of your personal data
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Erase your personal data (subject to legal requirements)
- Nominate another individual to exercise your rights
- Grievance redressal — contact your Sangh host or support@jainsangh.co.in
7. Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If your account is inactive for 24 months, we may erase your personal data except where retention is required by law.
8. Security
We use industry-standard measures including encryption, access controls, and Row-Level Security to protect your data. Access to sensitive data is restricted to authorized administrators.
